Proposed Media Freedom Act to introduce a right of customisation of the media offer

On 16 September 2022, the European Commission published the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA) proposal. The EMFA would introduce the right for consumers to customise the media offerings on their devices and interfaces. The media services providers and entities developing and introducing devices and user interfaces in the European Market will be required to add a functionality that enables users to change the default settings controlling the media services.
