On 3 April 2024, the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) of Brazil issued precautionary measures as part of its investigation into Hurb, a platform that connects users to hotels, hostels, rental cars, and flight bookings. Senacon has given Hurb 48 hours to prove it has the economic and financial conditions to perform the services it has already contracted. If Hurb does not comply with the deadline, it faces a fine of BRL 50’000 per day. This measure was imposed because Hurb failed to present a plan for how it would fulfil its current contractual obligations to customers after Senacon received 7741 complaints in the first quarter of 2024.
