Description

Issued precautionary measures againts Hurb over alleged violations of consumer regulation

On 28 April 2023, the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) of Brazil issued precautionary measures as part of its investigation into Hurb, a platform that connects users to hotels, hostels, rental cars, and flight bookings. Senacon has given Hurb 48 hours to provide financial statements and a forecast of resources for supplying new travel packages. If Hurb does not comply with the deadline, a fine of BRL 50, 000 per day will be issued. Possible consequences for Hurb if irregularities are found or if the company does not provide any financial statements are the imposing of fines as well as the prohibition of the commercialisation of new travel packages.
