Adopted Council general approach on Directive on improving working conditions in platform work, including mandatory data sharing requirements
On 12 June 2023, the Council of the European Union adopted its general approach on the Directive on improving working conditions in platform work, including mandatory data-sharing requirements. In particular, under the Council approach, the platforms will be required to provide data on the number of persons performing platform work and contractual conditions for such work in the Member State the person is based every 6 months. Additionally, the responsible labour and social protection authorities of Member States will have the power to ask for additional clarifications on such data. The Council will now start the negotiations with the Parliament on the final version of the Directive.
