Description

Announced National Cybersecurity Labeling Program for IoT Devices

On 11 October 2022, the White House proposed a cybersecurity labelling program for Internet of Things (IoT) devices to the private sector, academic institutions and executive agencies. The program would be non-binding and voluntary and would create new standards regarding the cybersecurity of devices. The policy aims to ensure consumers' protection from cybersecurity risks, allowing them to have access to security pieces of information on the IoT devices they own. The White House aims to launch the labelling program in Spring 2023.
