On 29 March 2022, HB 2146, amending state law on data security breach notifications, has been signed by the Governor, and will therefore become effective on 22 July 2022, 91 days after the estimated closing of the legislative session. The Bill will require additional notification of the Arizona Department of Homeland Security within 45 days. Under previous rules, only affected individuals and, in larger cases, consumer reporting agencies and the attorney general needed to be notified.
