Indonesia: Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs confirmed Wikimedia's registration as private sector electronic system provider

On 30 April 2026, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology confirmed that the Wikimedia Foundation completed registration as a Private Sector Electronic System Provider (PSE). The registration requirement applies to electronic system providers operating services in Indonesia and establishes administrative obligations relating to electronic system governance, including the identification of responsible parties and coordination mechanisms for compliance with statutory requirements. The Ministry further stated that the Wikimedia Foundation was undergoing normalisation procedures for access to Wikipedia following completion of the registration process.
