On 28 November 2021, the consultation closes on the second chapter of the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) guidance on “anonymisation, pseudonymisation and privacy-enhancing technologies”. The ICO opened the public consultation on 8 October 2021. The ICO listed in the second chapter the main objectives of the data anonymization, defined the concept of identifiability and outlined three key indicators that should be used by data processors to determine if the information collected could be classified as personal data. Furthermore, the ICO noted that the latest technological developments should be taken into consideration by data processors to ensure that the anonymization techniques used remain appropriate for identifying risks.
