On 16 September 2022, the consultation on the ICO guidance on anonymisation, pseudonymisation and privacy-enhancing technologies closes. The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) opened the consultation on 28 May 2021. The guidance contains four chapters: "introduction to anonymisation" (outlining the legal, policy and governance issues around anonymisation procedures in terms of data protection law), "identifiability" (focusing on identifiability from anonymisation procedures) "pseudonymisation" (addressing the differences between pseudonymisation and anonymisation) and "accountability and governance" (explaining the governance measures to take when personal data is anonymised).
