Poland’s President vetoes Amendment to the Broadcasting Act
On 27 December 2021, Polish President Andrzej Duda vetoed the Amendment to Broadcasting Act, which was previously passed by Poland's lower house of parliament, the Sejm, on 17 December 2021. The amendment would have set a threshold on foreign investment in national radio and television stations and therefore prevent companies outside European Economic Area from holding or acquiring more than 49% stake in television and radio stations.
