On 9 August 2023, the US Supreme Court upheld the decision to delay the removal of Apple's anti-steering regulations in the App Store. This ruling was initially made by the Court of Appeal in July. The Supreme Court dismissed an emergency request from Epic Games, which had sought to enforce an immediate implementation of the removal order. A previous judgment had established that app developers should be allowed to incorporate links within their apps, guiding users to alternative payment methods for fees and subscriptions. As a result, the enforcement of this regulation is currently on hold until the Supreme Court delivers its final verdict.
