Description

Postponed implementation of a ruling requiring termination of anti-steering rules within the App Store until Supreme Court decision on the appeal

On 17 July 2023, the Court of Appeal postponed the abolition of Apple's anti-steering rules within the App Store. In a previous ruling, it was determined that app developers should have the ability to include links within their applications that direct users to alternative payment methods for fees and subscriptions. The implementation of the rule has been temporarily paused for a period of 90 days, allowing Apple to submit its request to the Supreme Court for the case to be considered, and in case the case is accepted for deliberation, the postponement will be extended until the Supreme Court issues its ruling.
