Implemented OMB Memorandum requiring contracts not to include provisions instructing installation and use of TikTok on Government Devices

On 28 May 2023, the Memorandum for the Heads of Executive Departments and Agencies implementing the "No TikTok on Government Devices Act" adopted by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) requiring contracts not to include provisions instructing installation and use of TikTok on Government Devices, is implemented. In particular, the Memorandum required agencies, within a maximum of 90 days of its adoption on 27 February 2023, to ensure that the new contracts don't include provisions requiring the use of the application and cease using contracts that contain such requirements. The Memorandum implements the "No TikTok on Government Devices Act", which prohibits installing and using the social media video application TikTok on federal agencies' information technologies.
