On 14 January 2023, the Digital Partnership Agreement, signed by the Government of Korea and Singapore on 21 November 2022, enters into force with a grace period. The Agreement seeks to deepen cooperation in the digital economy between both countries by establishing digital trade rules that promote interoperability between digital systems. The Agreement provides that both countries will facilitate cross-border opportunities for business innovation and promote the adoption of AI governance and ethical frameworks that support the safe and responsible use of AI-based technologies.
