Signed Korea-Singapore Digital Partnership Agreement including artificial intelligence regulatory standards

On 21 November 2022, the governments of Korea and Singapore signed the Korea-Singapore Digital Partnership Agreement. The Agreement seeks to deepen cooperation in the digital economy between both countries by establishing digital trade rules that promote interoperability between digital systems. The Agreement provides that both countries will facilitate cross-border opportunities for business innovation and promote the adoption of AI governance and ethical frameworks that support the safe and responsible use of AI-based technologies. The Agreement enters into force 30 days following its adoption.
