ACM accepts Apple's changes to payment options for dating apps

On 11 June 2022, the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) announced that it reviewed the changes Apple made to its payment methods conditions and determined that they comply with the order issued on 24 August 2021. Previously, dating apps could only use the payment options provided by Apple while with the new conditions approved by ACM, they can use alternative payment options. Apple’s failure to meet the ACM's requirements regarding the payment system for dating-app providers had resulted in a recurring penalties of EUR 5 million per week.
