Law on Digital Transformation including government access to data was adopted by National Assembly

On 11 December 2025, the National Assembly of Vietnam adopted the Law on Digital Transformation. The adopted Law on Digital Transformation confirms obligations for organisations relating to access to data by state agencies. Article 16(1)(d) establishes the obligation of organisations to coordinate with state agencies in verifying and sharing data and fulfilling obligations serving digital transformation as prescribed by law. Article 30(2) requires organisations to provide data to the Digital Transformation Implementation Statistics, Measurement, Monitoring, and Evaluation Platform for state management purposes. Article 39(3) requires organisations and businesses to provide and report data for digital economy statistics as requested by competent state agencies. Article 27(1) confirms that such activities must comply with the law on data and other relevant laws.
