Regulation (EU) 2024/3228 repealing Regulation (EU) No 524/2013 pertaining to the discontinuation of the European online dispute resolution platform enters into force

On 20 July 2025, Regulation (EU) 2024/3228 repealing Regulation (EU) No 524/2013, discontinuing the European Online Dispute Resolution Platform (ODR platform) entered into force. The Regulation mandates discontinuation of the European online dispute resolution (ODR) Platform due to low usage and cost-ineffectiveness. The Regulation applies to online traders, marketplaces, and entities involved in consumer–trader disputes and removes references to the ODR Platform from Regulations (EU) 2017/2394 and (EU) 2018/1724.
