On 19 December 2024, the European Parliament and the Council adopted Regulation (EU) 2024/3228 repealing Regulation (EU) No 524/2013, discontinuing the European Online Dispute Resolution Platform (ODR platform). The Regulation mandates discontinuation of the European online dispute resolution (ODR) Platform due to low usage and cost-ineffectiveness. The Regulation applies to online traders, marketplaces, and entities involved in consumer–trader disputes and removes references to the ODR Platform from Regulations (EU) 2017/2394 and (EU) 2018/1724. The Commission must inform users with ongoing cases by 20 March 2025, assist them in retrieving case data, and ensure all personal data and case information are deleted by 20 July 2025.
