On 7 May 2025, the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) initiated a public consultation as part of its market review of the digital economy ecosystem, conducted under Section 11 of the Competition Act 2010, until 6 June 2025. The review, scheduled from July 2024 to December 2025, examines competition dynamics and market structure across five sub-sectors: mobile operating and payment systems, e-commerce retail marketplaces, digital advertising services, online travel agencies, and data privacy and protection.
