China: Closed consultation on Regulations on the Management of Internet User Account Name Information

The consultation on the "Regulations on the Management of Internet User Account Name Information" is closed by the Cybersecurity Administration of China (CAC) on 10 November 2021, after being opened on 26 October 2021. In particular, the regulations aim to govern the management of Internet username data to defend the legitimate rights of citizens and maintain a good cyberspace environment. The regulations would require internet account users to provide real information to service platforms and abide by the relevant laws. Service platforms would be responsible for verifying the accuracy of the real information provided.
