China: Opened consultation on Regulations on the Management of Internet User Account Name Information

A consultation on the "Regulations on the Management of Internet User Account Name Information" is opened by the Cybersecurity Administration of China (CAC). In particular, the regulations aim to govern the management of Internet username data to defend the legitimate rights of citizens and maintain a good cyberspace environment. The regulations would require internet account users to provide real information to service platforms and abide by the relevant laws. Service platforms would be responsible for verifying the accuracy of the real information provided. The deadline to submit comments is 10 November 2021.
