On 22 January 2024, the Florida Bill for the Protection of Minors on Social Media Platforms (HB 1) was adopted in amended form. The amended Bill requires social media platforms to prohibit users under the age of 16 from opening accounts and verify the age of users. The platforms that allow users under the age of 18 are required to clearly disclose a number of policies, including content moderation policies and whether they have addictive or deceptive design features.
