Implementation of increased reporting duties for platforms in amendment to NetzDG
On 1 February 2022, the enhanced duty of reporting illegal content, which includes adding a timestamp and disclosing personal user information, adopted with the amendment of the NetzDG, enters into force. Furthermore, the amendment mandates platforms to establish a procedure for appeal and arbitration, giving users the right to contest the platform’s decision to remove or not flagged content.
