Introduced New York Assembly Bill A836 amending labor law by prohibiting employers from requesting or requiring employees or applicants to disclose personal account information
On 22 May 2023, the Assembly Bill A836 was introduced as a substitution of the Senate Bill S2518A. The Bill would prevent employers from requiring the disclosure of usernames, login information, including passwords, as a condition of employment, maintenance of employment status, or for use in disciplinary actions.
