On 08 October 2023, AB 947 amending the California Consumer Protection Act (CCPA) was signed into law by California Governor, Gavin Newsom. In particular, the Bill expands the definition of "sensitive personal information" for purposes of the CCPA to include personal information that reveals a consumer's citizenship or immigration status.
