Opened consultation on Issues Paper for March 2024 interim report on data brokers

On 10 July 2023, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) initiated a consultation on the Issues Paper for the eighth (March 2024) interim report of the Digital Platform Services Inquiry, titled "data brokers", until 7 August 2023. The Issues Paper aims to gather opinions from data brokers, businesses involved in selling or acquiring data from data brokers, and consumers regarding the impact of the data broker industry on the Australian economy. It seeks information on various aspects, such as potential changes in market dynamics, the collection process and sources of data, available data products and services, the associated terms of use, and potential harms to consumers and small businesses. The ACCC will submit its report by 31 March 2024.
