On 17 May 2023, the Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee of the UK Parliament closed consultation on the draft Media Bill. Under the Bill, OFCOM would be required to carry out a review of audience protection measures adopted by “on-demand programme service providers” to ensure that audiences are appropriately protected from harmful content. Specific audience protection measures include age rating or other classification systems, content warnings, parental controls and age assurance measures.
