Closed investigation into Yandex regarding self-preferencing violations

On 25 May 2022, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) closed its investigation into Yandex regarding self-preferencing violations by the search service provider. According to the FAS, Yandex had abused its dominance by treating its own services in a preferential matter when it comes to search results. On 19 January 2022, Yandex and the FAS had reached an agreement with Yandex agreeing to behavioural remedies, including making public the conditions and technical requirements for integrating partners into its search engine, as well as reporting requirements and a support payment of RUB 1.5 billion to the Russian Fund for the Development of Information Technologies.
