Russia: Announced opening of a case against Yandex for alleged self-preferencing

On 13 April 2021, the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) opened a case against Yandex after it failed to comply with the warning issued on 20 February 2021. According to the FAS, Yandex abused its dominance by treating its own services in a preferential matter when it comes to search results as well as through promotion. According to the FAS, possible anti-competitive practices will be further investigated with a turnover fine, the consequence if a violation of the Russian Antimonopoly Law is proven.
