Introduced Minnesota SF 950 requiring consumer consent for collection of personal information

On 30 January 2023, Bill SF 950 requiring consumer consent prior to collection of personal information was introduced in the Minnesota Legislature. The bill would prohibit businesses from collecting, using, or disclosing personal information without first obtaining the consumer's consent. While obtaining the consumer's consent, the business would be required to inform the consumer about the categories and purposes of the collected information, as well as the categories of third-parties to which each type of information may be disclosed.
