Rejected Minnesota HF 1892 requiring consumer consent for collection of personal information

On 22 May 2023, Minnesota Bill HF 1892, requiring consumer consent before the collection of personal information, was rejected after failing to pass before the legislature session adjourned. The Bill was the companion bill of SF 950, introduced in the Minnesota Senate on 30 January 2023. The Bill would have prohibited businesses from collecting, using, or disclosing personal information without first obtaining the consumer's consent.
