Announced investigation by FTC regarding HomeAdvisor's marketing deceptions

On 11 March 2022, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that it had issued a complaint against HomeAdvisor, a platform connecting individuals and entities for work related to home improvement. The FTC alleges that HomeAdvisor makes misleading and false claims about the quality of work that it is displaying on its platform. FTC also claimed that HomeAdvisor's sales representatives misleadingly stated that the first month of their help desk was free.
