On 21 November 2022, the governments of Korea and Singapore signed the Korea-Singapore Digital Partnership Agreement. The Agreement seeks to deepen cooperation in the digital economy between both countries by establishing digital trade rules that promote interoperability between digital systems. The Agreement states that the parties will implement measures against requirements for data localisation and allow businesses to choose where their data is stored and processed and their cloud technology of choice. The Agreement enters into force 30 days after its adoption.
