ASEAN: Adopted ASEAN Data Management Framework

On 22 January 2021, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) published the document titled “ASEAN Data Management Framework” (DMF). The DMF provides voluntary and non-binding guidance based on best practices in the area of data management for businesses within the ASEAN members by outlining a step-by-step guide for businesses to implement a data management system. In addition, the DMF outlines the strategic priorities, principles and initiatives to guide ASEAN members in their policy and regulatory approaches regarding digital data governance in the digital economy.
