Launch of EU-US Trade and Technology Council

The European Commission announced the launch of the EU-US Trade and Technology Council. The council marks the start of a cooperation in the area of emerging technologies in an effort to set global democratic standards. Furthermore, the council set out to propel trade and investment as well as innovation, all while safeguarding the aforementioned emerging technologies and bolstering the European-US technological and industrial leadership. The creation of this council was agreed upon at the EU-US Summit at the European Council in Brussels.
