Joint Statement on Second Ministerial Meeting of the EU-US Trade and Technology Council

On 16 May 2022, the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US President Joe Biden released a joint statement after the second ministerial meeting of the EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC) in Saclay, France. The two Presidents emphasised the importance of the TTC for enabling trade between the two countries and countering trade-distortive practices. Further, they announced that the ministers involved in the meeting had announced new initiatives in a number of fields, including emerging technology such as artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure.
