Inaugural joint statement by the EU-US Trade and Technology Council

On 29 September 2021, the European Commission and White House released an inaugural joint statement after the meeting of the EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC). The EC and U.S. reaffirmed the TTC's goals of propelling trade and investment as well as innovation, all while safeguarding the aforementioned emerging technologies and bolstering the European-US technological and industrial leadership. Specifically, the TTC will aim to strengthen the coordination of the U.S. and EC in areas such as semiconductor supply chains, investment screening, export controls, artificial intelligence, as well as general global trade challenges.
