Announced EU Cyber Defence Policy including cybersecurity standards

On 23 May 2022, Council of the European Union invited the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy (High Representative) and the EU Commission to table a proposal for an EU Cyber Defence Policy by the end of 2022. The purpose of the policy is ensure stability and security in the EU's cyberspace while strengthening the EU's collective response to cyber attacks or threats, including ransomware attacks on European businesses, citizens, and organisations.
