On 1 January 2022, the Bill that amends the Artificial Intelligence Video Interview Act (HB 53) is implemented. The purpose of the Bill is to detect and avoid racial bias in the use of artificial intelligence. The Bill requires employers who rely exclusively on artificial intelligence to verify whether an applicant qualifies for an oral interview to report demographic information to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The latter must analyse the data and submit it to the governor and the General Assembly.
