Adopted requirements for 5G auctions including a ban of ZTE and Huawei

On 20 October 2020, the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority approved a list of telecom providers as participants in the auction proceedings to assign the licenses to use 5G frequencies. Among the requirements used to assign the licenses, the Authority specified that the network services cannot be carried out with products from the suppliers Huawei or ZTE. Moreover, if such products are already used in the provision of network services, the decommissioning process shall be completed by 1 January 2025.
