Second Consumer Protection Cooperation Network letter to Whatsapp to request information on commercial policies

On 8 June 2022, the Consumer Protection Cooperation Network, which is composed of the EU national consumer protection authorities, sent a second letter to WhatsApp to reiterate their request that consumers must be informed about whether WhatsApp derives revenues from policies relating to users’ personal data. Additionally, Whatsapp is requested to explain how it intends to communicate the future Terms of Service updates to its users. Whatsapp is given a deadline until July 2022 to provide the requested information.
