Description

Management measures for internet public fundraising service platforms including fair marketing and advertising practice requirement enters into force

On 1 May 2026, the Measures for the Administration of Internet Public Fundraising Service Platforms entered into force in China, including a fair marketing and advertising practice requirement. The Measures apply to internet public fundraising service platforms operating in China. The Measures prohibit platforms from inserting commercial advertising, including corporate product promotion and brand promotion, into public fundraising information pages, including the homepage, search results pages, and project details pages. Platforms are also prohibited from inserting links redirecting to commercial activity pages, including e-commerce pages and financial management pages, and from inserting interactive functions unrelated to public fundraising, such as lotteries and traffic-driving games. In addition, the Measures require platforms to provide services in accordance with the principles of legality, good faith, voluntariness, fairness, and openness, and prohibit platforms from imposing conditions on charitable organisations, donors, or beneficiaries that contravene laws, regulations, or social morality.
