Vietnam: Cybersecurity law, including content moderation authority governance was adopted by National Assembly

On 10 December 2025, the Cybersecurity law, including content moderation authority governance, was adopted by the National Assembly. The law requires the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defence to deploy cybersecurity protection forces. The cybersecurity protection forces have several powers, including the ability to apply measures for investigation and prosecution in situations of information with content against the State of Vietnam, information with content that incites riots, or information with humiliating or slanderous content.
