Vietnam: Cybersecurity Law, including government access to data provisions was adopted by National Assembly

On 1 July 2026, the Cybersecurity Law, including government access to data provisions, enters into force The law requires both foreign and domestic enterprises to provide user information to the Ministry of Public Security’s specialised cybersecurity force upon verified request for investigative purposes. Service providers would also be obliged to share relevant information and documents with the authorities while maintaining confidentiality. Additionally, all agencies, organisations, and individuals using cyberspace would be required to report information related to cybersecurity protection, threats, and infringements to the competent authorities and cybersecurity forces.
