Vietnam: Cybersecurity Law, including government access to data provisions was introduced to National Assembly

On 31 October 2025, the Cybersecurity Law, including government access to data provisions, was introduced to the National Assembly. The law requires both foreign and domestic enterprises to provide user information to the Ministry of Public Security’s specialised cybersecurity force upon verified request for investigative purposes. Service providers would also be obliged to share relevant information and documents with the authorities while maintaining confidentiality. Additionally, all agencies, organisations, and individuals using cyberspace would be required to report information related to cybersecurity protection, threats, and infringements to the competent authorities and cybersecurity forces.
