On 1 February 2026, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs announced the conditional restoration of access to X Corp’s Grok service following the submission of a written commitment by the company to comply with Indonesian legislation. The Ministry clarified that the normalisation does not constitute an unconditional relaxation of regulatory requirements but forms part of an ongoing digital law enforcement process subject to strict supervision and evaluation. X Corp committed to implementing additional safeguards, including strengthening technical protection measures, restricting access to certain features, and activating incident response mechanisms. The Ministry stated that it would verify and test these measures to assess their effectiveness in preventing the dissemination of unlawful content and protecting children. The Ministry further indicated that it retains the authority to take corrective action, including re-suspending access, if further non-compliance or violations are identified.
