Republic of Korea: Bill on Partial Amendment to the Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation (Bill No. 2214589) including data governance was introduced to National Assembly

On 26 November 2025, the Bill on Partial Amendment to the Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation (Bill No. 2214589) was introduced to the National Assembly. The Bill would amend Articles 1 and 2 to expand the purpose and definitions to explicitly cover industrial artificial intelligence. The Bill would amend Articles 9 and 10 to regulate the creation, use, protection, and transactions of industrial data. The Bill would amend Articles 12, 13, and 14 to regulate standardisation, quality management, and industrial data platforms, including platform governance, contractual principles, and institutional support.
