Republic of Korea: Bill on Partial Amendment to the Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation (Bill No. 2214589) including cybersecurity regulation was introduced to the National Assembly

On 26 November 2025, the Bill on Partial Amendment to the Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation (Bill No. 2214589) was introduced to the National Assembly. The Bill would amend Article 9(6) to require persons entitled to use or profit from industrial data to ensure data integrity and reliability and to prevent loss, theft, leakage, forgery, alteration, or damage. The Bill would amend Article 9(7) to establish liability for intentional or negligent violations of these obligations. The Bill would amend Article 25 to require policies ensuring that products and services utilising industrial data are safe and free from defects.
