Republic of Korea: National Assembly adopted Bill on Partial Amendment to the Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation (Bill No. 2214589) including cybersecurity regulation

On 2 December 2025, the National Assembly adopted the Bill on Partial Amendment to the Act on Promotion of Industrial Digital Transformation (Bill No. 2214589). The amendment revised Article 9(6) to require persons entitled to use or profit from industrial data to ensure the integrity and reliability of industrial data and to prevent loss, theft, leakage, forgery, alteration, or damage. Article 9(7) was amended to establish liability for damages where these obligations are violated intentionally or negligently. Article 25 was amended to require the establishment of policies ensuring that products and services utilising industrial data are safe and free from defects.
